rieren allein in den Clustern Life Sciences und
Mechatronik, zwei der fünf Cluster, welche die
Standortagentur Tirol managt, rund 150 Partner.
Mit der zweiten Auflage des Branchenüber-
blicks „Medizintechnik & Healthcare“ wurde
der Blickwinkel über Tirol hinaus auf Südtirol
und das Trentino ausgedehnt. Warum? Weil
diese Regionen historisch, politisch, kulturell
und wirtschaftlich eng miteinander verbunden
sind. Diese Verbundenheit ist gelebter Alltag,
der sich in der grenzüberschreitenden Koope-
ration zwischen Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft
ebenso zeigt wie etwa in der Zusammenarbeit
im Projekt Intertech oder in den Initiativen der
Euregio. Der vorliegende Branchenkatalog soll
diese Verbundenheit zum Ausdruck bringen, die
facettenreiche Branche Medizintechnik sichtbar
machen und die vielfältigen Kompetenzen der
Player auf beiden Seiten des Brenners abbilden.
Wir laden Sie ein, sich einen Eindruck von der
Dynamik der Medizintechnik in Tirol, Südti-
rol und dem Trentino zu machen, dabei die
Leistungen der etablierten Unternehmen und
F&E-Einrichtungen ebenso wie jene der „Hidden
Champions“ zu entdecken und das Wissen und
Können der portraitierten Partner auch für Ihre
Vorhaben zu nützen. Denn es geht um Ihren
Innovations- und Marktvorsprung und die Wett-
bewerbsfähigkeit unserer Standorte. Und darum,
den „Jobmotor Medizintechnik“ am Laufen zu
halten.

we have
widened our scope beyond the confines of
Tyrol to include South Tyrol and Trentino. Why?
Because of the close ties that link these regions
- historically, politically, culturally and econo-
mically. The regions do not only pay lip service
to these bonds, but rather they are actively
lived out, a fact that can be seen, for example,
in the collaborative Intertech project or in the
initiatives of the Euregio. This current edition of
the branch catalogue aims to underline these
close ties, to highlight the multifaceted nature of
the medical technology sector and to portray the
manifold competencies of the players located on
both sides of the Brenner Pass.
We invite you to take a look and gain a picture
of the dynamic nature of the medical techno-
logy sector in Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino,
to explore the achievements not only of firmly
established enterprises and R&D facilities, but
also those of the region’s “hidden champions”,
and to take advantage of the knowledge and
expertise of those partners portrayed herein for
your own plans and projects – after all, this is
all about your innovative edge, your market pro-
minence and about the competitive capacity of
our region. And it’s about keeping the medical
technology “job generator” fuelled and running.
