Wenn es um Medizintechnik geht, gilt in Südtirol
die Devise „klein aber fein“. Daher tun wir gut
daran, uns auf unsere Stärken zu konzentrieren
und Potenziale für unsere Unternehmen auszulo-
ten und auszubauen. Gerade die Medizintechnik
bietet Entfaltungsmöglichkeiten für Hand-
werker, metall- und kunststoffverarbeitende
Betriebe und für die IT-Branche. Obwohl Südtirol
innerhalb der Euregio im Bereich Medizintech-
nik durchaus als Neuling bezeichnet werden
kann, muss es sich mit seinen Unternehmen und
Forschungseinrichtungen keinesfalls verstecken.
Im Gegenteil: Unternehmen und Forschungsein-
richtungen arbeiten gut vernetzt, weil das TIS
als Südtiroler Vernetzungsexperte sozusagen
vom ersten Tag an bemüht war, Synergien
zu erzeugen und Austausch zwischen den
unterschiedlichen Akteuren zu ermöglichen und
diesen unbürokratisch zu gestalten.
Um die Chancen des Wachstumsmarktes Medi-
zintechnik für Südtiroler Unternehmen zu nutzen,
spielt darüber hinaus die Zusammenarbeit inner-
halb der Euregio eine bedeutende Rolle.
Grenzüberschreitende Kooperationen und
der kontinuierliche Know-how- und Technolo-
gietransfer sollen in innovative Produkte und
Dienstleistungen mit großem Internationalisie-
rungspotenzial münden. Denn Ärzte und Pfleger
brauchen Instrumente und Ausrüstung, die
ihnen ihren verantwortungsvollen Job erleich-
tern und ihnen helfen, die Abläufe im Klinik- und
Praxisalltag besser zu organisieren – zum Wohle
der Patienten.
Im Zuge des Interreg-Projektes „Intertech“ ist
es nun gelungen, auch im Bereich Medizintech-
nik eine Brücke zwischen Tirol, Südtirol und
Trentino zu schlagen.
When it comes to the medical technology sector,
South Tyrol’s maxim can be formulated as “small
but significant”. Our best strategy, therefore, is
to concentrate on our core strengths and to iden-
tify potentials and develop them for those com-
panies located in the region. Medical technology,
in particular, offers a wealth of scope for skilled
craftspeople, metal and plastic-processing
companies and for the IT sector. It’s fair to say
that, within the Euregio area, South Tyrol is still
a newcomer in field of medical technology and
yet, with its enterprises and research facilities, it
certainly needn’t be modest. In fact, quite the
opposite is true – its companies and research
establishments operate in a well-networked
environment thanks to the efforts of the TIS, the
South Tyrolean networking expert so to speak,
which, from day one, worked hard to create
synergies and to facilitate communication and
information exchange between the various play-
ers - and to do so in a non-bureaucratic manner.
In addition, collaboration within the Euregio
area also plays a vital role when it comes to
enabling South Tyrolean companies to use the
opportunities offered by the growth market
medical technology.
Cross-border cooperation and the continuous
transfer of knowledge, expertise and technology
lead to innovative products and services with
high internationalisation potential. Physicians
and nursing staff, after all, need instruments
and equipment to assist them in their highly-
responsible professions and to help optimise
procedures in their day-to-day work in hospitals
and surgeries – for the benefit of their patients.
